Benny is cast in a clay mixture called Parian Body, this is a modern reproduction of the 18th century 'Parian Ware' that was made to resemble Parian marble as used in Ancient Rome. Parian marble ran out and was superseded by Carra marble in the Renaissance.

Parian Ware is what is known as soft paste porcelain.

It contains more fluxing material to allow it to becme glassy at a lower temprature. A similar body is used to make the white figures on Wegwood blue 'Jaspar ware ' pots.

This limited, numbered edition is signed by the sculptor and comes complete with a certificate of authentication.
